YANKEES! YANKEES! YANKEES!

There is so much excitement and definite chill in the air today, with the holidays around the corner but most of all the New York Yankees won their 27th World Series!

27 WOW! Almost seems a little greedy when all I can hope for along with many other Houstonians is another run for the Houston Astros in the World Series! However Wednesday night was another memorable night in this phenomenal City, to watch the Yankees claim the title as Champions.
I watched the game at Southern Hospitality and it was packed with the rowdy Yankee fans cheering on Godzilla and Texas boy Andy Pettitt. However it was quite the opposite with the most infamous Centaur that ever lived, A-Rod was up for bat when the fans would heckle him and even erupted into “boo’s” when the bases were loaded when he took the mound. In typical A-Rod fashion he lived up to everyone’s expectations and choked.

Southern Hospitality

As the night went on it became clear the Yankees were going to return to being top dog in the baseball world, the crowd got rowdier, the bomber shots were flowing, and in typical fashion it seems like in NYC someone passes out at the bar.

YANKEES WIN!

The spread of Swine Flu . . .Straight up Bomber Shots

Moments like these will always be memorable and so glad I was able to be apart of them. So every time I hear New York, New York, Empire State of Mind, and Tonight is Going to be a Good Night, it will bring me back to this night and the insanity of going to the parade. Yes, you read that correctly, I went to the parade. I had to take advantage of this opportunity; glad I can say I went but will never go back, unless I am using a sponsor’s pass.

SEXY!

Honestly it is hard to describe the rowdy crowd, you just had to be there to witness it, I mean honestly they broke down a police barricade to get closer to Broadway and they were only 50 feet away. After seeing the legendary Yogi Barrera and Matsui pass on by, I decided to call it quits. I hope the photos I post will be able to convey the excitement, chaos, and Yankee pride!

Barricade still in place

What barricade?
Godzilla

Thank you New York for another memorable moment that I will always remember, but most of all THANK YOU JAY-Z form making the Yankees hat more famous than a Yankee can!

Unemployment . . .Not so bad!

Well for the past month I have been unemployed and it has been a roller coaster of a time. For the first 24 hours I was elated to be “FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST” and optimistic about getting a fabulous job! Then over the course of a week it went from being breezy to freaking out, resume blasting and thinking I would be “TAKING IT TO THE STREETS”. Well a month later I am embracing it and having a blast enjoying the City!
I am thrilled to have Rosella, Tucker and hopefully Courtney to play with. I have started running up to six miles now which is very exciting however I did chicken out last week when it was in the 40’s, but I have no excuse this week.

Rosella and I have been up to our usual antics of talking like we are British or in my case a Scottish/Brit/Australian/German, or cookie monster for most of the time we are tearing it up. Playing at FAO Schwarz to celebrate her birthday which we named “31 Going on 13”, and lounging on the High Line that is an elevated park in the Meatpacking District. (I will blog more about our shannigans at the Hudson Pines Farm)

Me on the Highline

I am also taking advantage of the Museums, I went to the MOMA with LC to see a Rock-N-Roll exhibit which featured Blondie, The Ramones, Sonic Youth, and many other iconic punk rock bands from the 70’s and 80’s. It was pretty impressive and it was a great way to kickoff the evening to see the one and only Bruce Springsteen with Linda. I think I was more excited to Little Stevie Van Zant and Max Weinberg. I will admit that I only knew like 4 songs and thrilled that he played “Thunder Road” and “Born to Run”. For being a Texas girl I definitely felt like an outsider with all the Jersey fans. But it was amazing to see The Boss in his home state for what was the last concert at Giant Stadium, what an amazing experience!

Tucker, who I love to hang out with and I am always guaranteed a fun adventure! We have gone to the movies and enjoyed the complimentary cucumber cosmo’s, wine and fabulous food at Fig & Olive. It was a wild night and so glad that Lauren and Jeannine were able to join the fun with “Uncle Tucker”.

The past few weeks have been so much fun and I can’t wait to see what November will bring. Stay tuned for more updates on what madness has ensued especially the night of the Amish Outlaws with Lauren and Jeannine!

Pete Yorn ROCKED the SOHO Apple Store . . .

Who knew the Apple store could be enjoyable, at least the SoHo store is, 57th and 5th is a tourist trap! Tonight Pete Yorn is performing for an in-store promotion for the release of his upcoming album Back &Forth.

I arrived at the SoHo store anticipating mass chaos, but pleasantly surprised to breeze in and get a great spot in line. After standing inline for about 30 minutes we were ushered upstairs to the seating area and thrilled to be at least 20 ft from the stage or less.

It was a great crowd I would say at least 75 people! While waiting for Pete to take the stage we listened to the album, Nightcrawler. Everytime I here Vampire I think of the concert at the Meridian Ballroom in Houston, where JuJu kept getting brushed up on by this drunk skank and Pete happened to notice the scuffle when my sister, myself and another girl told the girl behind us to back off. That was the one song JuJu was looking forward to, Good Times Good Times!

In case you are still wondering who this Pete Yorn is, you know his music! Strange Condition
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doY82-bQChs&feature=channel) was featured in Me, Myself, & Irene (he alsowrote the score), Life on a Chain (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PywIWLGYj2o&feature=channel) featured in John Q (opening scenewhen Denzel is driving his son to the baseball game), Ever Fallen inLove Shrek 2.

All time favorite song by Pete is, For Nancy, I was hooked oneafternoon watching Vh1 that I had to buy the album that afternoon. I must say For Nancy is one song that I can listen to over and over when I feel anxious (or calm) that has gotten and still does get me through any anxiety filled moment when I seem to think that I am totally lost and have no clue of what I am to do and not having things (meaning life) figured out, plus it also got me through a relationship or two with that repetitive line “Convince yourself that everything is alright, Cos it already is”, how true this is! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9AG0ltjkA0&feature=channel

Enough about me, let’s get back to Pete! Tonight’s performance was FANTASTIC, one of the best experiences for live music seeing it is such a small group of people and the acoustics were the best ever. I am rather disappointed and can kick myself for not getting my tickets to Joe’s Pub for this Thursday night to see Pete once more, plus he looked really good!

Pete played a good mix of a few songs from the new album, but alsosongs from The Morning After, The Day I Forgot and Nightcrawler. He kicked off the set with a song off the first album followed by Life onA Chain, Country, Don’t Wanna Cry for You, Strange Condition, Shotgun,Longtime (about him being from Jersey and wanting to explore biggerbetter things), For Nancy (even Pete says this song helps his anxiousmoments) covered New Order’s, Everytime I Think of You, Ask Yourselfand On Your Side (also one of my favorites).

I had such a blast at this performances and seriously all of my once in a lifetime moments in New York keep getting better and better! Thanks Pete for putting on the BEST SHOW EVER!

LIVE FROM NEW YORK . . .

It’s Saturday Night with your host Zac Effron, musical guest the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, featuring a special appearance by yours truly, Christina Sacco!

Yes, kids I went to the tapping of SNL on April 11th and the kicker of the night was being seated on the floor! It was absolutely one of the most fun and memorable nights I will ever have in NYC. It all started in August when I signed up for the lottery; this is the only time of year you are eligible to sign up for the upcoming season. Funny because in March I was thinking that the season is half way over and well maybe I will have better luck next year. A few days later I got the email saying that I had been chosen in the lottery. So of course my first thought was I hope I am in town, seeing I have been traveling every weekend.

Courtney was my date for the evening and we kicked it off in style with martins at TAO, followed by a spectacular dinner. We ordered a couple of appetizers that were fantastic, yet I must say and highly recommend ordering the filet mignon cooked in a ginger scallion broth was the highlight of the meal, we also had the miso glazed sea bass which was spectacular but the filet mignon ruled the night!

The presentation of the filet mignon is quite impressive seeing it is served raw, however they bring a small black cast iron fondu pot to the table and the ginger scallion broth is bubbling. Our waiter instructed us on how to cook our filet to perfection and seriously it was out of this world!

So after a bottle of wine, great conversation and a spectacular meal, Courtney and I literally had 3 minutes to get to 30 Rock on time, seeing we had to be there by 10:15pm. We jumped in a cab and told our driver that we were in a hurry to get to SNL. So he quickly got us there and we literally ran inside the lobby to get in line. Of course I was like great we are here but our seats are going to be just terrible for getting there so late. To our dismay the girl is like well you are now in Emily’s line (at least I think that was the girls name) seeing we were supposed to be in Brandon’s line. I started looking around and realized that our line was rather short compared to the other lines and I told Courtney, I think we might actually have good seats, and one can only hope to be seated on the floor.

So our page came over to inform us that we would be going up soon, seeing the group from the dress rehersal was walking out and that we are going up in groups of four. At this point we are frantically calling our families to tell them to watch and to look for us as we might be on the floor. I had just enough time to call my parents chit chat for a few minutes and then call both of my sisters and post an update my status on Facebook, just in case some of you were on-line.

Finally we get the ok to go up and for once it paid to get there super late to be one of the first four to make our way through security where we received our SNL wrist bands.

Courtney and I made our way to the elevators and were instructed to follow our page, who led us through the doors which leads you down to the infamous hall way where the walls were adorned by autographed photos of former guest host and a flurry of activity. This was the very hall where some monologues have taken you back stage, and as we stood there patiently waiting to be seated, Bill Hader walked by. He was walking with his head down and then I think he must have heard me say “OMG” and Courtney “that’s Bill Hader” that he looked up and in a voice between Keith Morison (Dateline journalist) and the Italian journalist Vinny Vedecci, acknowledges us with a “Hello”.

Of course we make friends in line, there was a couple who just got engaged over the weekend who are from Houston and the guy works for KPRC as a sports producer and his fiancé works in the medical center so we chatted with them. Always nice to run into people who are from Houston! Bill Hader once again walks past us and looks at us and says “Hello” again but the funny thing is that he did not acknowledge other people in line.

Finally, we get the ok to go in and that is when it hits me, I am sitting on the floor of Saturday Night Live! Seriously, I have been watching SNL ever since I can remember, back in the 80’s with my parents and sisters, when Eddie Murphy played Gumby and Buckwheat, Martin Short and Christopher Guest as synchronized swimmers (if you don’t remember the skit click on the link below, one of my favs), Chevy Chase was weekend update, Phil Hartman and I could keep going on and on but I will stop here.

It was surreal and I could barely comprehend the thought of me sitting in one of the most famous sets in television history (34 seasons to be exact). There was just a flurry of activity; camera’s getting in position, the SNL Band playing for us, and sets being moved in position.

The very funny Jason Sudeikis warms up the crowd in his Joe Biden attire and then he introduces Kristin Wiig and Fred Armisen who perform Blondies, One way or Another (I’m gonna gettcha gethca) Kristin sang while Fred played the guitar. They were fun to watch but funny thing is that they were not very animated; Fred seemed to be in the zone possibly channeling his inner Obama for the opening skit.

As soon as they were done performing they walked off the stage but then hustled to the changing area which is located in the back of where we were sitting. Lorne Michaels (a true icon) was behind us talking to a few people and the stage hands were quickly moving the “Oval Office” set to the center stage.

There is so much that takes place that I must say one never thinks about when you are sitting at home watching. I knew it was a small sound stage because of the NBC tour I took several years ago, but they really have to pull together to put on a successful show funny or not.

Once the first skit is done, Sudeikis and Armisen literally run off the stage and the stage hands begin moving the set off the stage for Zac Effron to walk out for his opening monologue. I was amazed out how fast they moved, seeing they only have the length of the credits to get everyone and everything in place.

Effron steps on stage and slides across the floor for his grand entrance and the crowd is just going crazy with excitement. Abby Elliot, Wiig, and Armisen are sitting in front of us and that is when Courtney and I are hoping that we will make our debut. During the monologue they show the cast in their seats and you can see me playing with my hair and my forehead and this is when Courtney tells me I am on camera. For once in my life I actually did not mind being shoved by someone and I owe a huge thank you to Courtney, she is the reason my head pops in and out of the frame (It’s about 1:32 into the monologue and right before Arminsen starts talking).

http://www.hulu.com/watch/67436/saturday-night-live-zac-efron-monologue

The “Today Show” skit was right in front of Courtney and if you sat just right you were able to watch the skit through the camera’s and those standing around, “Gilly” was performed right in front of us as well, along with the several other skits. Lorne Michaels was on each set before we went live talking to the cast to discuss any last minute changes. Then at one point I looked back and saw Tom Hanks hanging out with the cast and with Lorne right before the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s took the stage. They were fantastic to watch, the first song they sang from their latest album was great, but I was thrilled that the second song was Maps, one of my favs and considered it one of my summer song last year.

Weekend Update, was hysterical loved the New Jersey gay couple and the Bon Jovi “Opposite Band” (Balls of a Tiger and Your Hate is Like Good Medicine, GENIUS!) and I must say
“Oh B!tch Please” catch phrase from the movie blogger Angie Tempura played by Michaela Watkins was hysterical. I think it was just fun to watch because they were trying so hard not to laugh.

Before the HSM (High School Musical) skit started, we moved from our seats to stand with the crew so that the cast could sit down and as we are standing there I saw Daryl Hammond to my right and hit Courtney. Daryl noticed that I saw him and kinda gave me a nod. Come on, DARYL HAMMOND, is SNL seeing he is the longest running cast members on the show. He is brilliant, a true fixture of the show. I was in AWE that he was next to me and quite possibly the highlight of the evening!

So to all you kids who think SNL is not funny or a hit or miss some times, I can honestly say I have a new appreciation for all the men and women who make the show a success each weekend. What they do to put on a show every Saturday is truly amazing, not just because of a talented cast, but what happens behinds the scenes is truly remarkable! So to all you stage hands, camera crew, PA’s, make-up artist, wardrobe dressers you are phenomenal in your own right, without you the show would truly be nothing!

The Quarterly Report . . .

After several attempts to post a blog this month I am finally getting around to it and actually have the will power to get it done! The first quarter in New York has been insane with work and nearly impossible to blog and maintain a social life. I have been a wilting flower but I will once again flourish seeing spring has sprung even if it did snow this week!

I had a fun and memorable birthday this past January and I have accepted the fact that I am now officially in my 30’s! I must say it was a blast even if there was an ice and snow storm.
Saturday evening I was racing home from Time Square after a very long day that I had to motivate myself to go out. We started the evening at Essex down on the Lower East Side followed by madness at the Mason Dixon.

Susan and me at Essex

Rosella, Courtney, Reggie and me at Essex

The Mason Dixon was insane especially waiting in line in the blistering cold for a bar that reminded me of Blanco’s meets Armadillo meets Kay’s, but with a mechanical bull (do you see where this is going?) We finally make our way in and meet up with Lynn and Trent who carved out space for us to hangout, when the banter began of me riding the mechanical bull. Of course everyone jumped on the bandwagon and was told we would not leave till I got up there and made Texas proud! Thanks to the liquid courage of a shot of Frangelica and maybe bourbon (not sure) provided by Courtney, I was led to one of my most embarrassing, mortifying, and hysterical, moments in my life by Rosella and Courtney, witnessed by Dusty, Lauren, Lynn, Trent, Reggie and the rest of the bar.

Courtney, Lynn and I at the Mason Dixon . . .
I signed my waiver to ride the mechanical bull of what could cause bodily injury, paralysis, and even death, paid my five dollars and made my way to the bull. I channeled my inner Sissy and mounted that bull with what little grace I had, and made an ass out of myself but it was well worth it! I lasted all of four seconds and I don’t think I will ever forget that ride. I am proud to say I rode that bull with one arm in the air and with my legs flying up in the air with every buck and that one turn, too bad there is not a video of this ride I am sure it would have made Continental’s Hard Luck Award.

Me channeling Sissy
("I told you Sissy I don't wan't you riding that bull")
Later in the month I went to my first Knicks game when they played the Houston Rockets and Equs! It was a great game and my Rockets were doing fantastic until the final three minutes of the game. Very disappointing but I was so excited to see a game.

Houston Rockets at MSG

I also was to the Knicks and Spurs game which was one of the most exciting games I have ever watched live! We went into overtime and the crowd was insane, but not very entertaining. I mean who goes to a game and passes out, sad thing is that it was still the first quarter! Eva Longoria was courtside cheering on her husband, and Fat Joe was leaning back with Woopie. The night of the Rockets game it was tennis legend Billy Jean King and the notorious bad boy on the court John McEnroe but then again we were celebrating Chinese New Year’s at that game.

Passed out Knicks fan at the Spurs game, not even the end of the first quarter!

Fat Joe is the big guy in the white shirt and Whoopie is one over from Mr. Lean Back, Lean Back now do the rock away!
Tucker and I saw Equs staring Daniel Radcliffe and Richard Griffith (he plays Uncle Dudley in the HP films). It was one of the most intense play’s I have been to and it was absolutely incredible. It is a heavy subject matter but watching Radcliffe and Griffith interact with each other is amazing and you see how many layers there are to this complex boy who is psychology messed up. I was so engrossed in their performances and content that you do forget you are watching “Harry Potter”.

I must say Anna Camp who plays opposite of Radcliffe and Lorenzo Pisoni were just as brilliant. And yes I did get the giggles when Radcliffe and Camp take their clothes off that Tucker actually pinched me! Plus I could not help but laugh when the moment finally presented itself due to the usher, who decided she needed to sit on the ledge in front of us and position herself to view Harry and his wand! I quickly composed myself even if it did seem like eternity of me giggling.

If it does come to a City near you I do recommend seeing it but if you are not a fan of live performances not mentioning any names, mostly my sister and my niece then you may not like this one either. But then again I would not take my eight year old niece to see it to begin with, she could barley sit through Mary Poppins on Broadway!

In February I attend my first New York Rangers game with Susan, Rosella and Lynn. Once again another fun evening of sports. I think they were playing a team from Florida but really don’t remember. However I was disappointed that there was no fighting that night, but then again Sean Avery is no longer with the Rangers. Fantastic game and the fans were much more lively that the Knicks.

Stayed tuned for the next posting seeing there is still more to come such as Emily’s bachelorette party, an evening at Saturday Night Live, and updating my apartment . . .

Oh Yeah, FOOTBALL SUNDAY . . . .

Finally I can add another fantastic New York experience to my list, New York Giants! Yes, that is right I went to my very first NY Giants game against the Philadelphia Eagles and it ROCKED!!

It was the perfect day for football, freezing cold, over cast, light snow flurries, and yes it was bitter COLD!! Plus it was so windy that I got wind burn but it was so worth it. Ok, I know it is no Reliant Stadium, where every Sunday you pray for the roof to be open on a glorious 70 degree sunny afternoon, where you can rock the flip flops. Also on that prayer list you pray that the TEXANS don't fumble in the last 2.5 minutes that cost them the game. No offense guys but I still can't help remember the game against the Buffalo Bills back in '93 (I know that is when we were the Oilers . . . But I still love ya Blue!) and just recently the game in October, was it the Colts?

Susan and I bundled up, I miss flip flops!

Susan and I got to the game at the beginning of the 2nd quarter not by choice but thanks to Penn Station. Our train was not scheduled to leave for another 45 minutes.

Finally 1:11 approaches and we board our “luxurious” rail car, only to pick our seat very cautiously so we would not pick up any diseases. Not sure what is worse the seat on the train or the couch at a fraternity house, kinda of a toss up. Least it was only a 10 minute trip over to Seacuss and then an additional 15 minutes to the stadium.

Thanks to our sponsors, espcially RAFA!

Susan got us fantastic seats on the 40 yard line and 20 rows up. Something about old stadiums that make it feel more quaint, don't get me wrong I love our stadiums in Houston but there is something about stadiums that have been around forever, just an energy. Take for instance walking into the Astrodome, even though sports are not hosted there, unless you can call picking the shorter bar line at the Hideout a sport, there is something about the Dome that takes you back to the Glo ry Days! Who would disagree that the dome had the best scoreboard ever, it was ICONIC!! (If you don’t believe me watch this video on you tube and at 3:45mins into it you will see! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzKpQyOR03Q

Seriously the game was fantastic lots of solid moments when you though just maybe the Giant's would rally and hold the Eagles but fortunately for me they did not succeed. They had the opportunity when Tuck picked off the field goal attempt before halftime and scored a touch down. That I must say was the play of the game and finally the fans rallied.

Speaking of Giants fans, I was a little sad that they were not crazy fun people. Was it the cold, was it because Burress stupidly shot himself in the leg, or is it because they don’t have cheerleaders? Whatever it was I thought the fans were sad, and this poses the questions why do the Giants not have cheerleaders?

I mean the Texans and Cowboys have cheerleaders, why do the rest of the teams not have cheerleaders. I did find out later in the game (4th quarter to be exact) that the Patriots have cheerleaders and I guess the Titans have cheerleaders seeing along with stealing the Oilers (not mentioning names, stupid Bud Adams!) but I forgot the Derrick Dolls went with them too. So if you know the answer feel free to drop me a line (love it when I speak all blog!)

Speaking of that character, Burress, wonder how much I can get if I sell my ticket on e-bay seeing he was the player featured on the game ticket this weekend? No it is not for sale, it was just a question!

"Hi Eli"

As the second half began, we were ready to watch some more fabulous football, all I could do was silently cheer for the Eagles for the fear that a Giants fan would spot me. Good thing for me they were not paying attention, they were just trying to stay warm.

So by the end of the fourth in typical fashion the fans start filing out but only to be surprised when the Giants start rallying late in the final seconds of the fourth and score a touch down. Thankfully it was the final moments and the Eagles still walked away with a win which helped me move to #11 this week!

If you ever get the chance to go to a Giants or Jets game while in NYC, GO! It was fantastic despite the bitter cold, plus I was hoping for the chance that former UH QB, Kevin Kolb would take to the field in his Eagles jersey. Hopefully I will get a chance to see him play again.

Post Game Tailgating

Strike A Pose . . .

It may not be the Garden, but Madonna rocked Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas! Madge has not visited the bayou city since 1990’s Blond Ambition Tour and unfortunately that was one tour I missed seeing my parents thought I was too young (I was in 6th grade!)

We should have known that it was going to be a fabulous and crazy night with the girls. Of course my sister, Julie was there (and no she did not wear her Blond Ambition t-shirt) and our best friends, who go all the way back to first grade.

Tina arrived at our apartment and our mini-van cab was right on time except for the fact that he kept driving. Me being paranoid began running after him, not thinking that he might be turning around. I mean NYC it is very cut throat when hailing cabs, just imagine Neiman’s preview for Last Call when it comes to the shoes and Couture. So my sister and Tina are dying at this point and so is the cab driver who is like “You just made my night, I wish I would have had a camera.” Don’t worry mister we have one and let the adventure begin!

Our first stop is the House of Blues for pre-drinks and a light snack. As we walk into the packed House of Blues, we run into our friends Laurie and Lia. We chatted it up for a few minutes before claiming the banquets in the bar.

People watching has become a sport and it was mildly entertaining. So after a very long wait for cocktails, we decided that we needed a snack since the drinks were going down a little too easily. The food was decent however the service was so slow and not to mention they were running out of food. Seriously how could they not know that they would have a huge crowd seeing the Material Girl was in town? Finally we get our seared ahi tuna and spinach and artichoke dip, when our other waiter surprised with another round of complimentary drinks. However Tina was insisting that the guy was not being serious about the drinks being on him (looks like someone lost track of the beverages).

Glamor Shot
So after our libations and snacks we decided it was time to go see the Queen (who will topple the King in 29 Days)! While Julie, Tina and I are debating should we walk it to the stadium or cab it that maybe we should just Rickshaw our way seeing he was right there on the curb.
So after a few minutes of digging for cash we decided we would tip around $8 or $9, so of course Julie was to jump out and pay. Our rickshaw man peddled his little heart out with the three of us acting like kids back in high-school; except for me that would make me in grade school (I am way younger!)

As we pile out, Julie pays our little man and then next thing we know Tina is tipping a little extra, but not realizing that Julie took care of it. All I can say is that we made that guys night between our insanity and the $27 dollar tip!

So we make our way into the stadium and begin to navigate our way to the seats. Our friends Kern, Hunter, and several others were there but we were all scattered, however Hunter did make his way over. While chatting it up with Hunter our friends Kristina and Katherine arrived. Of course the older kids sat together and let the little ones sit together. It totally reminded me of the summer before first grade when we saw Return of the Jedi at the Plit. Yet this time Kristina and I were not sitting on the front row throwing popcorn at our sisters and Tina.

Finally after the much anticipated wait and fatigue setting in, Madge rolls up in a Suburban, and her dancers trailing behind on golf carts or on foot. After a brief wait the lights go down and then the rolling gum drop begins its winding decent.
A minute or so of watching the gum drop roll and hearing the pounding beats of Hard Candy, Madonna appears on the throne! If you are an avid reader like Sean then you know what to expect: high energy dance moves and a totally satisfying set lis! Everything from Get in the Grove, an electrifying version of Human Nature and Borderline (which I do like now), Vogue, La Isla Bonita, You Must Love Me (from Evita and yes Madge we LOVE YOU), She’s Not Me (love the homage that that features her transformation of the last 25 years (such as Like A Virgin, Material Girl, Dominatrix, to cone bra Madonna, esp the tongue and cheek of her kissing the Like A Virgin Madonna) Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You, Spanish Lesson, Like A Prayer, Ray of Light and so many other fabulous goodies!!

Of course we did get our song choice and the people in the front picked Secret, great song but there are so many others that should have been requested. What about: Who’s that Girl, Open Your Heart, Casing a Commotion and the list could go on and on.

We belted out Secret right along with Madge and of course we somewhat remembered how the song goes and love that Madonna fest up to that she did not even remember the words.
Madge did her political video, and I must say that we were delighted that she did do a little editing. Love that she did not chant her anti-Palin number, think what you want but don’t push your political views on me!

It was a fantastic show and I was even more thrilled that my sister and I were able to be with our best friend’s voguing with our best friends!
Thanks Madonna for great show and keep the dance grooves coming!

P.S. Madonna you were in Houston in 1990 - Blond Ambition tour, so yes you have been to Houston before, Julie and Tina even saw you after the concert at the Stoffer Hotel (across from the Summit)
