Well for the past month I have been unemployed and it has been a roller coaster of a time. For the first 24 hours I was elated to be “FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST” and optimistic about getting a fabulous job! Then over the course of a week it went from being breezy to freaking out, resume blasting and thinking I would be “TAKING IT TO THE STREETS”. Well a month later I am embracing it and having a blast enjoying the City!
I am thrilled to have Rosella, Tucker and hopefully Courtney to play with. I have started running up to six miles now which is very exciting however I did chicken out last week when it was in the 40’s, but I have no excuse this week.
Rosella and I have been up to our usual antics of talking like we are British or in my case a Scottish/Brit/Australian/German, or cookie monster for most of the time we are tearing it up. Playing at FAO Schwarz to celebrate her birthday which we named “31 Going on 13”, and lounging on the High Line that is an elevated park in the Meatpacking District. (I will blog more about our shannigans at the Hudson Pines Farm)

I am also taking advantage of the Museums, I went to the MOMA with LC to see a Rock-N-Roll exhibit which featured Blondie, The Ramones, Sonic Youth, and many other iconic punk rock bands from the 70’s and 80’s. It was pretty impressive and it was a great way to kickoff the evening to see the one and only Bruce Springsteen with Linda. I think I was more excited to Little Stevie Van Zant and Max Weinberg. I will admit that I only knew like 4 songs and thrilled that he played “Thunder Road” and “Born to Run”. For being a Texas girl I definitely felt like an outsider with all the Jersey fans. But it was amazing to see The Boss in his home state for what was the last concert at Giant Stadium, what an amazing experience!

Tucker, who I love to hang out with and I am always guaranteed a fun adventure! We have gone to the movies and enjoyed the complimentary cucumber cosmo’s, wine and fabulous food at Fig & Olive. It was a wild night and so glad that Lauren and Jeannine were able to join the fun with “Uncle Tucker”.

The past few weeks have been so much fun and I can’t wait to see what November will bring. Stay tuned for more updates on what madness has ensued especially the night of the Amish Outlaws with Lauren and Jeannine!
