Pete Yorn ROCKED the SOHO Apple Store . . .

Who knew the Apple store could be enjoyable, at least the SoHo store is, 57th and 5th is a tourist trap! Tonight Pete Yorn is performing for an in-store promotion for the release of his upcoming album Back &Forth.

I arrived at the SoHo store anticipating mass chaos, but pleasantly surprised to breeze in and get a great spot in line. After standing inline for about 30 minutes we were ushered upstairs to the seating area and thrilled to be at least 20 ft from the stage or less.

It was a great crowd I would say at least 75 people! While waiting for Pete to take the stage we listened to the album, Nightcrawler. Everytime I here Vampire I think of the concert at the Meridian Ballroom in Houston, where JuJu kept getting brushed up on by this drunk skank and Pete happened to notice the scuffle when my sister, myself and another girl told the girl behind us to back off. That was the one song JuJu was looking forward to, Good Times Good Times!

In case you are still wondering who this Pete Yorn is, you know his music! Strange Condition
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doY82-bQChs&feature=channel) was featured in Me, Myself, & Irene (he alsowrote the score), Life on a Chain (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PywIWLGYj2o&feature=channel) featured in John Q (opening scenewhen Denzel is driving his son to the baseball game), Ever Fallen inLove Shrek 2.

All time favorite song by Pete is, For Nancy, I was hooked oneafternoon watching Vh1 that I had to buy the album that afternoon. I must say For Nancy is one song that I can listen to over and over when I feel anxious (or calm) that has gotten and still does get me through any anxiety filled moment when I seem to think that I am totally lost and have no clue of what I am to do and not having things (meaning life) figured out, plus it also got me through a relationship or two with that repetitive line “Convince yourself that everything is alright, Cos it already is”, how true this is! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9AG0ltjkA0&feature=channel

Enough about me, let’s get back to Pete! Tonight’s performance was FANTASTIC, one of the best experiences for live music seeing it is such a small group of people and the acoustics were the best ever. I am rather disappointed and can kick myself for not getting my tickets to Joe’s Pub for this Thursday night to see Pete once more, plus he looked really good!

Pete played a good mix of a few songs from the new album, but alsosongs from The Morning After, The Day I Forgot and Nightcrawler. He kicked off the set with a song off the first album followed by Life onA Chain, Country, Don’t Wanna Cry for You, Strange Condition, Shotgun,Longtime (about him being from Jersey and wanting to explore biggerbetter things), For Nancy (even Pete says this song helps his anxiousmoments) covered New Order’s, Everytime I Think of You, Ask Yourselfand On Your Side (also one of my favorites).

I had such a blast at this performances and seriously all of my once in a lifetime moments in New York keep getting better and better! Thanks Pete for putting on the BEST SHOW EVER!
