Taking it to the Streets, Part Deux . . .

Greeting's my fellow Houstonians. I am thrilled to know you survived Ike and I can only imagine the beating he gave. I do however have a good idea from looking at the pictures posted and watching Geraldo get hit with a "weapon" aka debris when the winds were at 127 miles an hour and when he could barely stand. And I think we all know the story of "What's Love Got To do With It", so I think many knew Ike was going to play dirty! I know that was not very classy of me but then again I am not from San Diego, and we all know what that means thanks to the legendary anchor, Ron Burgandy. Oh, and I am totally loving the stories featured in the Chronicle "You Loot, We Shoot", CLASSIC!

So I have been pounding the pavement of the Big Apple since the biker rally in Bryant Park where Kid Rock and Skynard performed, don’t mean any disrespect seeing I love Skynard . . . Oh Black Betty is one of personal favs!

Kid and Skynard

On my way home from Bryant Park, I walked up 5th Avenue and passed the Louis Vuitton window that has received some buzz, seeing they staged what looked like a heist of the latest and greatest accessories. There were a few cases that were shattered, which prompted NYPD to walk in to investigate. While they were beginning their investigation they learned that it was all part of their display and might I say it is pretty brilliant.

LV Store on 5th Ave.

After my mid-morning nap and relaxing lunch at Serafina’s I began my quest for an afternoon latte, but only to find signs on Park Ave and Madison that read "Set this way" and me being the Curious George that I am, ended up at 57th and Lexington. Can't say for sure but I believe they were filming Lipstick Jungle. So as I was casing out the area when I discovered a very unique coffee shop, maybe you have heard of it, Starbucks? As I sat at Starbucks drinking my iced coffee (it was a scorcher of a day) for a good hour, in the hopes to catch a glimpse of the Blue Lagoon starlet, Brooke Shields, I never saw her and had to bail for a meeting at the Whistlin Dixie (this is where we watch our Cougar Football).

So later in the evening I met up with Rosella and Susan in Central Park to watch Moonstruck, staring Cher and Nicolas Cage. It was the perfect evening a little chill in the air and a beautiful clear night. We got there close to show time and as we found one of the last spots available we were informed by the couple next to us that they were expecting four more friends, trying to discourage us from wedging ourselves on their territory.

At this point the lights are pretty much out and the introductions begin and we of course decided to make it work and not bother them or their friends who were on their way. We laid out our blanket and filled our glasses with wine, and enjoyed our assorted cheeses, baguettes, and olives.

As we sat there cramped watching Loretta tell Ronnie Cammareri (Johnny’s brother) to “Snap Out of it” we noticed that their imaginary friends had still not arrived. Of course we knew the friends were a figment of their imagination and just laughed yet I was still laughing because of Ronnie Cammareri, yelling for Chrissy to “Bring him the big knife”!

Once we left the park we were walking back towards our apartment where we stumbled upon the filming of Gossip Girls. Serena and Dan were sitting on one of the stoups to a brownstone, not sure if Serena is still living at The Palace or not, could this mean that Lilly and Chuck’s dad are no longer together, if so will she get back together with Rufus?

So the three of us hangout for a good hour watching Dan and Serena sit there. It was exciting to watch for the first 10 minutes but only stayed in the hopes that resident bad boy, Chuck Bass would step out of the shadows of the night but least we got his dad and super hotty Nate Archibald (also a fellow Texan!)

I was able to take a few pics, however we had to turn our flash off, you can somewhat see Dan and Serena.

Dan and Serena

Following the low key Friday and Saturday, which was very much appreciated I cheered on the Houston Astros v. the New York Mets at Shea Stadium. Once again Rosella and Susan were right there with me and a few other Cougars (UH Cougars - not 40 year old women on the prowl). We had a fantastic time and loved that the 'stros beat the Mets!
Well, that is all I have for tonight yet check back soon I will have the latest adventure posted . . . Robert Earl Keen and the drunk kid from Baton Rouge and the adventures of He-Man!
