Ba Witdba . . .

Well the last week was a little crazy with traveling to Houston for the night only to go to Gilmer, Texas for the day for work. Many of you might be asking yourself where is Gilmer and why are you going for work? Well it is about 45 minutes from Tyler and maybe 20 minutes from Big Sandy! Love that there is a town called Big Sandy, CLASSIC!

So it was an uneventful visit, however it made my day to get bumped to First Class, gorgeous rainbow over the DFW airport, made my connecting, sat next to a nice guy who I think was single, and the kicker is that there was a guy with a mullet on the plane, what could be better? (Keep reading it gets better especially the pics!)

The following night, I was at Butterfield 8 in Midtown for a University of Houston Happy Hour, which is always fun, and if you are a Cougar in NYC you should stop by happy hour. It was a tame evening seeing we were in midtown after all and the bar was packed. Following happy hour I went to Sushi Samba down in the west village for an evening of Caprinia’s with Emily and had a fantastic time just hanging out and recapping the weekend before.

UH Happy Hour - Butterfield 8

So the following morning, I was up early surprisingly seeing I took Friday off and went to the event of the summer! Lynard Skynard and Kid Rock playing Good Morning America’s summer series in Bryant Park. I got there closer to 7:30 that morning and was still able to get a good spot and prime people watching!

So I was surrounded by unique individuals sporting their Confederate flag bandana’s while rockn’ the Harley Davidson apparel, and there were some great rose tattoo’s too. Seriously, I did not think we were going to have the biker crowd in the middle of Bryant Park.

This one group of individuals though they were the ultimate fans seeing they drove 9 hours from Cleveland, the old lady chats with Kid Rock on a regular basis on Myspace, and well the other two guys were in a band! Not only were they in a band they also brought cd’s to give to Skynard and Kid. I am crossing my fingers that this was their big break!

Then you had your real genius people who just could not figure out why Skynard was only singing Sweet Home Alabama and Kid Rock with All Summer Long. And just kept complaining and questioning what was going on, FYI it is called sound check! However I was tempted to say “that is it guys you got up way early for nothing.”

So we wait for them to go on for real this time but during the break I notice that Kid is sitting on the stage talking to this really cute girl, seriously this girl was not cheesy but I was like she is looking to pick up some sort of disease, and then I caught sight of this lady in her leopard party dress trying to pass as the media but you could tell she was just a washed up groupie trying to get back stage. Seriously she did have a good body but then when you saw her face you knew she was weathered and been around the block one to many times.

"The Media"

So now it is time for them to perform and Kid is entertaining and surprisingly he was fun to watch, but Skynard was FANTASTIC even though we could not hear him at all. Of course you had the die hard fans waving the t-shirt they just bought, the two guys from Cleveland waving their demo cd’s in the air trying to get their attention, and then you have that one idiot yelling Freebird!

All I can say is that was it was a great way to spend your Friday morning, nothing better than a latte and Skynard!
